Meet the Nomad Warriors! The  Karamojong  are a proud people living in their traditional ways as semi-nomadic herders in the remote Karamoja region of Uganda. The Karamajong People are unique, resisting the pressures of the outside world to conform, to turn away from their traditional cultural ways, as other people groups have done throughout Africa.

We'll start off the morning with a scenic and cultural hike through the valley of Mt Moroto, one of the highest mountains of Karamoja. We'll have the opportunity to meet one of Uganda’s smallest tribe, the Tepeth, who are inhabitants of this mountain.

Next up, we'll take our tour to the town to visit the Karamoja Cultural Museum, which hosts irreplaceable collections, highlighting the rich cultural heritage of the entire Karamoja region and the value of the scientific collaboration between Ugandan and French researchers in the field of paleontology.

We'll end with a visit to the homesteads known as Manyattas. For Mathematicians and designers, the manyatta architecture is fascinating for its ethno-mathematical fractal design and vernacular algorithms.  A Manyatta visit will be culturally enlightening and refreshing since it is not a Tourist staged event. Still, you will see how the Karamojong live, you can observe their community life, and one of the highlights is, of course, the traditional dancing. Here you'll immerse yourself in Karamojong culture. The afternoon is spent participating traditional games, daily activities as preparing staple foods, harvesting, beading, learning, dance, how to shoot bow and arrow and traditional friendly wrestling.

We'll wrap up the night with an experience of the typical Karimojong pastoral life by sleeping a night with the animals and shepherds in the Kraal. We'll help bring the cows to the kraal, share stories around the campfire, play games with the warriors and learn all about nomadic life and the history of the place. Other Kraal activities include; milking, blood collecting and roasting, goat roasting, fire making etc
